Burns Night Supper-RESCHEDULED DATE
Saturday, January 31, 2026
Based on weather forecasts and feedback from our guests, the board has decided to move the RVSS Burns' Night Supper originally scheduled for Saturday 24 January to Saturday 31 January. A notification email will be sent to all current registrants this evening. If you've made hotel reservations, please update them at your earliest convenience, and if you're unable to attend on the 31st, please let me know. Ticket sales have been extended now that we have an extra week for the venue to prepare, and we'd love to see you join us at 6pm on Saturday 31 January for our best Burns' Night ever!
Join the Roanoke Valley Scottish Society in the Salem Civic Center's community room for an evening celebrating the life of Scotland's most famous poet, the incomparable Robert Burns. A haggis will be addressed and served with tatties and neeps, plated dinner served, toasts given, the Immortal Memory presented by Ian Fraser, and much more! Dinner menu includes salad with quartered scotch egg (made with turkey sausage), salmon in whisky sauce, steak pie, buttery peas, cabbage with onions, dinner rolls, and sticky toffee pudding. Music by the Appalachian Piping Academy and the Roanoke Traditional Session. The Floyd Historical Dancers will perform a reel and a strathspey before teaching simple Scottish Country Dances to any who will join.
Feel free to bring items for the silent auction, or just have fun bidding. In addition to Highland Park 12 single malt whisky provided, there will be a cash bar. Recommended attire is Highland formal or black tie.
